As a Rugby Coach you must be central to the development of the players’
ability to make tactical decisions, but of course it’s the players themselves
who will make the decision on the field of play. The coach’s role during the
match is that of the analyst.
(Rugby Union, pag 112)

The ultimate objective of the project sponsor is to provide behind-the-
scenes assistance to project personnel for projects both “internal” to the
company , as well as “ external" .
(PM. Kerzner,pag 17)
The Rugby Captain’s role is to be “the first”. The first to rise the cup but also the first to arrive to the
training pitch. The Captain has the mind of the coach and the heart of the players. Source of
confidence and safeness. The Captain knows each player and the person behind the player. He or she
leads by example, a
Project Manager or Team leader too.
Leadership, knowing about what you’re talking about, selection and talent management are
equivalents processes in a
Rugby Coach and in a Business Manager. A good Coach as well as a good
Manager attracts, selects and incorporates valuable people .

In Business as well as in Rugby, to be part of the Team requires a minimum of technical skills. Then
the true character will show up: temperament, temperance and Courage which define each person.
